Muscle contraction Isometric
Isometric muscle contraction refers to a type of muscle contraction in which the muscle generates tension and remains at a constant length without any visible movement in the joints. During an isometric contraction, the muscle fibers activate and contract, but the overall length of the muscle does not change.
Scientifically, isometric muscle contraction occurs when the force generated by the muscle is equal to the opposing force or resistance, resulting in a static hold or stabilization. This type of contraction can be achieved by pushing or pulling against an immovable object or by holding a specific position against an external resistance.
