Muscle contraction Isotonic
Isotonic muscle contraction refers to a type of muscle contraction in which the muscle changes length while generating tension. During an isotonic contraction, the muscle fibers actively contract and exert force, resulting in visible movement in the joints.
Scientifically, isotonic muscle contraction involves the shortening (concentric contraction) or lengthening (eccentric contraction) of muscle fibers while maintaining a relatively constant tension. This type of contraction occurs when the force generated by the muscle is greater than or less than the opposing force or resistance, allowing for movement to occur.
