Muscle contraction Eccentric

In eccentric isotonic contractions, the muscle fibers lengthen while still under tension, controlling joint movement and decelerating the load. This is the type of contraction commonly associated with lowering a weight or the lowering phase of a movement. Examples include the downward phase of a bicep curl or the lowering phase of a squat.
